Description

The Aven 26800B-386 DSZ-44 Gemscope stereo zoom microscope for jewelers and gemologists has a continuous magnification range of 10x to 44x, binocular viewing head set at 45 degrees, 10x widefield eyepiece, 1.0x to 4.4x objective, halogen and fluorescent darkfield (DF) light sources, fixed stage, and gem tweezers. The Siedentopf binocular head has a pair of eyepieces with inter-pupillary adjustment, a fixed inclination to reduce eye and neck strain, and rotation capability to provide a more comprehensive view and enable sharing. A Siedentopf binocular head enables the viewer to change the interpupillary distance without changing the tube length, eliminating the need to re-focus the image. Dioptric adjustment accommodates individual eye-strength differences and eye-strength between users. The objective provides low magnification and a longer focal length for inspecting large-scale specimens, including rocks, minerals, and jewelry. The halogen lamp and pipe light provide bright light in a concentrated path. The fluorescent light source provides cool, white light for observing specimens as they would appear in their natural environment. The light sources provide DF illumination that reflects light off the specimen, resulting in a light image on a dark background. The adjustable iris and light shutter in the iris provide light control. The magnification and focus mechanisms enable viewers to obtain optimal resolution. The gem tweezers have two positions (right and left of the iris) to hold specimens. A stereo zoom microscope is used for inspection and dissection of specimens when three-dimensional images are desired, and provides zoom, sometimes called pancratic, magnification that allows the user to zoom in on the specimen within a continuous magnification range.

The stand can be inclined up to 10 degrees. The microscope is 400 x 180 x 265 inches (H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; and D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back). It comes with a dust cover, rubber eye guards, a tension control pin, spare fuse, and tweezers.
